One of the unintended consequences of doing podcasts that focus on indie and unsigned artists is that I have an ever decreasing pool of knowledge of mainstream artists. That’s a shame because there are some people who I really like a lot but since I cannot play their music, it doesn’t make sense for me to spend a lot of time keeping up with them when I could just as easily spend that time trying to find new music that I like by artists I can play on my shows.
Alicia Keys is one of those artists. I have liked a good 85 to 90 percent of all the music I have heard by her and I have liked all of the music videos I have seen from her. ‘Un-thinkable (I’m Ready)’ is no exception. Not only is it a great song, but there is also a beautiful video to go along with it. Chad Michael Murray from ‘One Tree Hill’ is the male lead and the two of them have a lot of chemistry together. The lady who plays Tara’s mother on ‘True Blood’ also has a brief cameo and it seems like I have been seeing her in a lot of stuff lately. So much that I might even learn her name one day.
